  1. right click options for downloaded videos

    it would be great that after a video has downloaded, i can right-click on an entry and convert the video, open folder, delete downloaded file, and play it.

    Thank you for your feedback. There will be a right-click menu in a future version. However, it will most likely not provide additional converting options.

  2. filename format and modified date

    i like that i'm able to define that filename format downloaded using youtube-dl and would like to be able to do the same with clipgrab. the modified date given to downloaded videos is of the original date the video was created and having this date on the files makes it difficult to sort files according to the date they were downloaded on.

    Hello there, thank you for that feedback. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that downloaded files have the wrong modified date.
    What operating system are you on?

  6. OGG-Vorbis Qualität besser einsstellen

    Die OGG-Dateien haben eine sehr schlechte Qualität. Wenn man Qualitätseinstellung hochstellen könnte, bzw. das Programm das von selber macht wäre das super.

    Vorbis-Dateien sollten eigentlich mit einer variablen Bitrate in Qualitätsstufe 9 eine recht gute Qualität haben. Tritt das Problem auch in der aktuellen Version auf?

    Zuerst ein kleines Lob, eines der besten Programme!
    Nun wäre es perfekt wenn man beim Download von MP3 Dateien eine Option wählen könnte wo zum Lied das entsprechende Bild vom Video hinzu gefügt wird.

    Vielen Dank für dieses Feedback! Es hat nun zwar eine ganze Weile gedauert, aber ich überprüfe nun verschiedene Optionen, diese Funktion zu integrieren.

    Die Anzahl der gleichzeitig stattfindenden Downloads soll vom Benutzer beschränkt werden können, um die Bandbreite zu schonen.

  9. ClipGrab fails silently when libmp3lame is missing

    I'm on Ubuntu and I didn't have libmp3lame installed.

    I tried to download a YouTube clip as mp3. It failed numerous times without any error message. Only when I started ClipGrab from the console could I see that ffmpeg fails because the library is missing.

    ClipGrab should detect whether the library is present and inform the user if it is missing.

  10. Detect failed downloads

    If a download fails, currently ClipGrab simply saves the partial file and removes it from the queue as if it was a successful download: maybe checking for timeout errors, or comparing the original file size with the downloaded size could allow to restart a broken download. Also, it would be useful being able to copy the URL of a downloading/downloaded movie. Does make sense?

  11. Meta-Daten aus YouTube

    Meistens besteht der YouTube-Titel von Musikvideos aus <Künstlername> - <Titel>. Wäre nett eine Funktion zu haben, die dabei automatisch die Meta-Tags aus dem Titel ausliest und einträgt, ansonsten muss das immer manuell gemacht werden, besonders interessant für viele die ClipGrab nur zum Downloaden von Musik verwenden

    Ein Desktop-File würde clipgrab einheitlich in verschiedene Desktop-Umgebungen einbinden.

    Unter Archlinux verwenden wir http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/clipgrab/repos/community-i686/clipgrab.desktop

    Als Desktop-File für ClipGrab würde ich für Pakete die Version von Packman (OpenSUSE) übernehmen, soweit ich weiß ist das sehr gut – das Packman-Paket beinhaltet auch das ClipGrab-Logo in einer schönen Version.

    In addition to MP3, is it planned to make ClipGrab able to download WAV audio files too (44/48 Khz - useful for videoediting) ?
